Arvind-Pal S. Mandair specializes in Sikh and South Asian studies. His current research and teaching interests cut across several different fields including: Global Philosophies, cross-cultural and continental philosophy, postcolonial theory, translation studies, history and theory of religions, political theory and the study of spirituality and consciousness.
Arvind-Pal S Mandair is a Professor at the University of Michigan where he holds an Endowed Chair in Sikh Studies. With doctorates in science and philosophy, he is the author and editor of numerous works, including Religion and the Specter of the West and Violence and the Sikhs. He is also a founding editor of the journal Sikh Formations.
